Alok Kapali was born in January 01, 1984. He was an all rounder who bats in the middle or lower middle order & bowled leg spin. He was the first Hindu to play in Bangladesh Cricket Team as well as he was the first Bangladeshi to take a Test hat-trick.

On August 29, 2003 in Peshawar Alok Kapali claimed a test hat-trick against Pakistan and became the first Bangladeshi bowler to get hat-trick in test. He picked up Shabbir Ahmed, Danish Kaneria and Umar Gul to complete his hat-trick. He has taken the hat-trick as a ranked 32 player in Test cricket. Bangladesh cricket team got lead in the first innings for the very first time in the match.
